Instructions for the Montessori sound boxes
An adult takes three pairs of red and three blue noise cans, which are particularly different from the noise. He slowly shakes one of the blue cans, then the matching counterpart from the red cans is also searched for by shaking it. If the right counterpart is found, they are set aside as a pair. When all pairs are standing together, the marking on the underside of the noise boxes is used to check whether they are correctly assigned. A blue and a red can each have the same colour marking on the underside. Now the cans are mixed again and the child is asked to sort them according to the noise. Once the child is safe with three pairs, the number of doses is increased until all six pairs of doses are in use. Variations: The child is asked to sort the cans up or down according to volume. The blue set and the red set are set up in two different rooms. Then you shake a can and ask the child from the other room to fetch the can that sounds the same. In children with poor concentration, it is advisable to do the exercises blindfolded, so that the distracting sense of sight is switched off.
