1 insert board, wood, approx. 32 x 10 x 3 cm

Instructions for the Montessori pressure cylinders

An adult first takes the pressure cylinder pairs, which differ particularly strongly in resistance. He slowly presses one of the black pressure cylinders, then by slowly pressing the matching counterpart from the natural-colored cylinders is sought. If the right counterpart is found, they are put aside as a pair.

When all pairs are together, the marks on the underside of the printing cylinders are used to check whether they are correctly assigned. A black and a natural-colored cylinder each have the same color marking on the underside.

Now the pressure cylinders are mixed again and the child is asked to sort them according to resistance.

Once the child has achieved safety with three pairs, the number of cylinders is increased until all pairs of cylinders are in use.

Variations:

The child is asked to rank the cylinders in ascending or descending order of resistance.

The black set and the ecru set are placed in two different rooms. Then you press a cylinder and ask the child to get the matching cylinder from the other room.
