The child sees the individual components of a plant in the puzzles and learns to name them. It collects knowledge about biological relationships. Due to their shape, the puzzle pieces can only be inserted into the correct recesses. Incorrect insertion is thus excluded.

Instructions for the Montessori plant puzzles

The child picks out one of the plant puzzles.
One after the other, the puzzle segments are removed from the base plate and
then reinserted.

The adult then takes one of the segments out of the plate, draws a finger around it and gives it a name (e.g. this is the root, this is the trunk ...).

Variations:

The individual plant segments are taken out, placed on a sheet, drawn around with colored pencil and colored in.

Older children can transfer the plant to the leaf and then label the individual segments with the appropriate names (stem, stem, flower ...).
