Instructions for the Baric boards

To introduce this material, the two boards that differ most should be used; So the lightest and lightest boards and the darkest and heaviest boards.

The adult takes the light and dark boards out of the box and places them in two rows in front of him.

He assumes an upright, straight posture.

Now he takes a light board in one hand and a heavy one in the other (place the board on the fingertips). While the arms are freely movable (neither touching the table nor the body), the hands are moved slowly and deliberately up and down, like with a scale.

The boards are put aside again and continue in the same way with the next boards in the row. Now it can be handed over to the child. The two boards are also placed on his fingertips; it weighs and is then asked whether they can determine a (weight) difference.

Variations:
Perform blindfolded exercise.

Combine baric boards differently:
- type of board (light-medium-heavy; medium-heavy-heavy; all three board types)
- number of boards (two light - one heavy; one medium - two heavy barish
boards)

Compare the baric boards with a pair of scales (preferably a beam scale - this is the easiest way for the children to see the results).
